Somewhere in the detritus that is Christmas 2012, lives a notepad with notes for my inaugural muse for the masses post. And boy was it going to be a good post. In it were words like Kotex, penis and death. When I find that notepad, I'll be writing an award-winning post...if I'm able to recall exactly what its point was to be.
So, instead, tonight I thought I'd share a couple of inspirational thoughts.
The first is from one of those angst-filled meme e-cards. It goes something like this:
"Hating takes too much energy. I just pretend people are dead."
And because it's 2 a.m., I've already forgotten what the second inspirational thought was supposed to be.
Welcome to my brain. Sometimes it functions. On even rarer occasions it functions properly. Sadly, tonight it has already shut down, flummoxed by HTML code and shabby blog backgrounds.
Oh! Maybe I was going to tell you how I tried to convince my family that we needed a family blog -- one where we could publicly air our grievances. Because our last name is Day, I thought the perfect title would be Judgement Days. No one but me was interested. {And this really wasn't an inspirational thought, was it? Inspired maybe, but not inspirational.} Now don't go stealing my idea! A muse inspires, but doesn't give her pie away.
Where, you may ask, did you get such a clever blog title? Well...it's a play on words. First of all, it's meant to be a bit sarcastic. Second, it's based on the title of a Depeche Mode album, Music for the Masses, which NOT coincidentally was a bit of a sarcastic title in itself.
What is the purpose of this blog? This blog will be filled with all sorts of thoughts and stories, meant to amuse you and, perhaps, prompt you in your own writing -- hence the "muse" part of the title. We'll see how it develops. It won't be pretty. It may, at times, be wordy. It may go all comatose for extended periods.
Who knows? We'll discover it together and watch it grow. Maybe have some interaction. Throw some parties? One thing's for sure: It'll be totally random.
